COLLECTION OF WARREN L. BATES
Army Vet (Korean War)
Retired Mechanic / Electrician At Martinka Mine
Warren was what most call “THE GURU” of ALL things Packard. However he knew a lot about all antique cars. He bought his first car in 1950 at 16 years of age. A (1932 Packard) which we still own today. In 1952 another 1932 Packard, in 1966 a 1938 Packard and 1940 Packard. He just kept collecting all through our youth cars and parts. As a young boy he spent a lot of time hanging out in the parts room of his Uncles Packard Dealership in Clarksburg, WV. The family moved to Fairmont where he worked at various dealerships that led to a lot of local Packard contacts. It was a snowball effect that lasted for 65 years. Now, due to his passing, the passion he passed to me will be passed to all the bidders / people who have been looking for parts they could not find prior to this auction.
